Nubus brought this up not on the board but has anyone else seen this plugin?
![]() Seems very cool just to have presets for all the famous v-synths Arturia makes. If you have a keyboard with knob controllers you can route them easily to those knobs and have a very quick way, and non-computer-taxing way I imagine, to bring up those famous sounds you like and not take your eyes of your keyboard. AAS does something similar with their Lounge Lizard software: ![]() which for performing musicians and for people who just like sleek interfaces is a nice site to behold. there are demo versions on each site to try out each item. |

The studio i'm working at is ordering a copy this week, so i'll post a review of it. As such, Arturia's stuff is pretty solid, so i'd trust it, as far as software ROMpler goes.
Herbie Hancock is endorsing it *shrug* |

We reviewed the demo in the latest gearwire podcast. We had it set up stand alone and messed with a bunch of the sounds. The demo is actually pretty cool on its own for a free synth. Check it out here:
http://www.gearwire.com/gearwire-crosstalk-010.html Since the podcast I have had a chance to try it on a few different systems. -It crashed my Sonar VST adapter the first time I used it and I ended up using a direct x wrapper I had from a while back to get it to work. I have heard that it works if you scan it a few times with the stand alone adapter though. -You may need to repair your priveledges on a mac. It will load up but there will be no sound unless your priveledges are in order. -It froze DP5 during the AU scan (on two different computers). I had to force quit and re-start the app. The plug was there after that though. So a few issues but nothing that stopped the train completely. It's a sweet demo and I can't wait to here what the full version sounds like. |

Yep it's a very cool demo. You don't get any intermittent clicks or noise like other demos out there plus it doesn't time out on you! Alot of the editing involves using the last 4 knobs pairings, so everytime you switch to a different sound you get a slightly different way to tweak the sound. I would love to see how the Edit screen looks though since it's greyed out in the demo.
The question I'm still wondering is, can you import your own presets from your own Arturia virtual instruments and use them in the full version of this program? If that was the case I'd surely call that a deal maker for this item. Sometimes when I use the Arturia instruments I have having more than one open just takes up so much processing time. Caveats are that I have yet to figure out how this program responds to cc messages, typically on Arturia stuff Control or CMD - Click let's you set those parameters on the program. It doesn't work like that with this one. Plugin worked fine however on my Ableton Live, Plogue Bidule programs. No probs as of yet. JUST TO ADD PLEASE EVERY OTHER MANUF.. FOLLOW ARTURIA'S LEAD AND DON'T CRIPPLE YOUR DEMOS with DONGLES, NOISES, TIME OUTS and the LIKE. |
