midi controller with effects?

hmmm a midi controller with effects does this mean that it can control multiple vst effects on my daw? or that it actually has built in effects? or both? hmm... i'm confused... anybody know? thnx

nah this controller can only control or send on/off messages to VST, AU etc. anything that response to such midi messages. the only thing sorta like that that would be both a midi controller and an effects engine would either a Kaoss pad or the alesis Ion i believe...
