You guys said on your recent pod cast that you didn't know about or have a way to send midi from one program to another. Check out the freely available Maple Midi Tools for such a thing:
http://www.hurchalla.com/Maple_driver.html There is also another free one out there called be-something-er-other, which also works very well, but only includes one port in free version. If one port is enough, it might be fine for you. They have a 30 port version they charge for. The Maple driver has 4 ports in and 4 ports out. Anyway, you can use this to send stuff from one program to another...such as from GControl to a soft-synth. keep up the good work. |

Awesome. Thanks Dewdman! I will definitely check that out and perhaps use it in a future feature. Also, welcome to the forum.

I remembered the name of the other one, its called loopbe
http://www.nerds.de/en/loopbe1.html That is the free one. They also have a 30 port version that is $20. http://www.nerds.de/en/loopbe30.html I think the loopbe product is newer and more up to date. But both loopbe and mapletools seem to work fine. Loopbe seems a bit slicker, but its $20 for the 30 port version and free for 1 port version, while you get 4 ports for free from from from Maple but its not as slick or up to date or supported. There are other virtual midi port drivers out there, but these two are the best because they run in kernel mode so very low latency. Either one works great. good luck. |
