Korg just started including a model of the Korg M1 workstation with their Legacy collection. It even includes the sounds of all nineteen optional ROM cards!
It's about time there is a soft synth of an 80s workstation. These sounds are essential! And even 80s gear is starting to be a pain to maintain. http://www.korg.com/gear/info.asp?a_...&category_id=1 Has anybody used any soft synths that have these cool sort of sounds - similar to an Ensoniq ESQ or Roland D50 or Korg DW8000 any other 80s synth/workstation? Any success getting these kinds of sounds out of multi-purpose synths like Sculpture (Logic) or Reaktor etc? Patch archives? |

The ultime 80's softsynth is NI's FM7. You can import your DX7 patches.
Korg's Polysix emulation in the legacy collection is damn good as well. NI's Pro-53 has it's sonic differences, but it's a lot of fun to play with. Waldorf's PPG Wave 2.v might be one of my favorite softsynths ever. And who could leave out Reaktor? Just make your own. |

Anyone here heard that Juno softsynth vst yet? there are like 2 main softsynths out there that emulate it. Another good one is the ARP Oddity which mimicks the Odyssey even down to the funky switches.
