Default Moog Music Little Phatty



Has anyone used the moog Phatty yet? I wonder if it as good as old Moogs and how it compare to the new mini.

here is a link to a previous discussion on the little phatty. i said something to the effect of:

$1475.00........Hand-built quality and that unmatched Moog sound, at a price every musician can afford? yea, every musician i know is rich and can easily afford that.

hehe correct! You can still pick up a MemoryMoog or a second hand Minimoog at around half the price. You would have to fill out those nifty patch sheets though to remember what patch you used on what song but no pain no gain or so they say...

yea, i hear that they still sound different for some reason, even if you keep track of the patches and settings. plus, they are notorious for breaking down (ask stereolab or the rentals about that) on the road. good luck finding someone to part with one!

Where can you find that? I'd buy one. It's seems like old Mini go for more than the Phatty. you could defeniately get a Micromoog Or a concertmate moog for a lot less than it though.

yea, or some bootleg moog clones; those usually aren't bad. a music store sold one on me (only needed $50 more) that was made in italy; it had the cards to immitate horns, strings, flute and everything worked perfectly! oh well, live and learn.
