I would start from the bottom and get more money and maybe go all the way to the top

Blacet/Paia/FracRack-compatible stuff = win.

Also, Corgan's was a Doepfer/Analouge Solutions hybrid.

Paia's are pretty cool and there is a strong community of modders out there, but what's up with the wack voltage?

Has anyone ever used Tassman? Its my favorite soft synth out there. Totally based on modular synthesis. Its somewhat similar to Reaktor, but in my opinion it feels a lot more like using a modular and has much better sounding high frequencies.

Its a great learning tool if you're thinking about getting into modulars.

The downside? It sucks the life out of your cpu.

I've used Tassman a long while ago it was alright by me. The concept is real good but the execution is a little lacking. I prefer u-He's Zebra for a great virtual modular:

It's a lot more intuitive and keeps the floor space to a minimum so you're not bombarded with many settings at once.

The Zebra looks pretty cool. It seems like the visual interface is pretty minimal (which should help with cpu performance).

In tascam, I really liked that one could set things up from scratch with no keyboard and LFO triggers. That is what modulars initially did. It took raymond scott a long time to make that music.

Reminds me of the suitcase modular that Jim O'rourke has; pretty neat, but I wonder if the handle can support the weight!

I dont have a picture of my current setup on this computer, but here's the current (haha, get it?) module list:

Doepfer- VCO, ADSR, LFO, Multiple, Ribbon Controller, Wasp VCF, Xtreme VCF, Noise+Random Voltages, Exponential Mixer, Exponential VCA
Bananalogue - Serge VCS

edit: Oh, and a lot of patchcords.
