I really like the octatonic scale which is exactly like drewsifier' C combo scale with a B instead of Bd. It is the whole/half or half/whole scale that the Proffesor also mentions. Oliver Messian brought some amazing scales to the table one in particular that I can remamber was E - F - F# - G - A - Bd - B - C - C# - D#. This is basically the chromatic scale without steps 5 and 11.

For a book with just about every single possible combination of notes, and 10 buttloads of bonkers theory regarding said combinations, check out "Thesaurus Of Scales And Melodic Patterns" by Nicolas Slonimsky. One of my favorite resources for busting out of harmonic ruts.
