This reminds me this past weekend I watched Let it Be the documentary and it was pretty neat seeing again how the Beatles worked together (or sometimes not so together) when they record. They seemed to use a lot of SM57s on their vocals or some variant of it and were using Fender amps almost exclusively. Neumanns on the pianos and the overheads. Real neat video. Shame they broke up after those sessions.
