i can vouch that playing the Chevrolet Buzz Bands stage in the McDonalds parking lot across from Wrigley Field in the middle of the summer does, in fact, sound like crap.

yeas, on earth. hehe it sounds 2 times worse than my basement, 3 times worse than a wedding reception, and 4 times worse than assorted parking lots, IMHO

Was it live band Karaoke? That can make for some crappy sounding venues.

yeah, Sylvie's is really interesting. Super dry super dead room. Its so clean. But the sound guys are weird and they have a big worry about noise complaints there.

Big Horse looked pretty damn closed to me a week or two ago. They might be remodelling or something.

The Mutiny did get a nicer system and a board. I think they do have an engineer too. Last time I played there was a festival and I think they brought there own guy so I can't say for sure. It sounds much better now though.
