I mix down from 8 track half inch and need at least an 8 x 4.
i used to have a Soundcraft 200b, which I was really into. The headroom was a little weird, but In general it was a great mixer. I liked the pres to. Anybody know of any other un-sung vintage mixers? Any new small mixers that you would trust to mix a record? |

I have an Allen $ Heath MixWizard 16 track that has some pretty killer EQs for the money. The pre's are ok, tons of headroom. They make a 14x4x2 with the same channel strips as mine. It also has like 32 different reverbs that are surprisingly good sounding, although getting it into the mix is sorta funky.

I've never tried one of their small-format mixers, but the larger ones are a great bang for the buck. And i agree that their EQs can hold their own, esp for the cash invested. |
