Default presonus central station vs mackie big knob vs samson c-control

need something to switch back and forth between powered and unpowered monitors, as well as help with headphone amplification (i've got an RME fireface and this headphone amp is never going to facilitate a further decline in my hearing - i need something louder)

i don't have a mixer so i do need to be able to bring in and switch an additional music source, such as for listening to cds

i do have active and passive monitors

not sure if i trust samson quality - don't care much about longevity, i'll treat it well - but do care about sound quality; comparable specs are hard to come by

i think i'd get the mackie big knob if it were rackmountable - it looks like it'd make a mess of my audio desk

so i'm leaning toward presonus central station

any thoughts? anything else I should look at? should i just get a mixer and use my old speaker switcher?

The presonus looks pretty good. You could run TOSlink into it and the output faders are passive so coloration should not be much of an issue. I may look into that myself.

Default Samson C Control

I know this is an old thread, but I'm curious as to anyone DIRECT experience with the samson c control unit?

It's a good unit. Solid routing options, handy to have around. I've got one but I never use it. Want it?

Default End up...

getting one for $40 on ebay... not so used... seems to be par for these things?

People have them, like em, but don't use em.

What's up with that?
