I just got the Waves IR. I don't know what it is about the convolution that makes it sound real to me, but my CPU is definitely working for it. Basically same thing as the other guys in this thread. I remove the tracks except for what get reverb then record the reverb. THen import that track back to the original session. It's a hassle but at least it is easy to do and until i get a new computer, that is the drill.

Default waves IR1/Hammond mod

Ive been loving the Waves IR1. Ive gotten used to bouncing individual tracks with verb to save resources in the box. My machine is capable of running two IR1 plugins. Its the most realistic convo I have used so far, and always sweet sounding.

I would really like to mod the Hammond DR20 Reverb cabinet I have. It has a huge oil tank in it. Anyone know how I can mod the preamp for balanced I/O?

I've been using the convos that come with Logic 7(Space Designer) and Sonar 5(Perfect Space) pretty extensively. I like them both a lot but the Perfect Space is so much more straight forward and simple. Also it has more of a smooth sound to it. The main thing though is that Perfect Space will take a straight wav file as an impulse whereas Space Designer needs a sine wave sweep, which makes it much harder to make you own impulses. I've even taken impulses of some of my favorite Space Designer Presets so I can use them in Sonar. Cool stuff.

My demo ran out on that IR. I miss that thing already.
This is yet another of the great downfalls of Digidesign, there is no wealth of free plugins available. Anybody know a convolution reverb in Pluggo format??
