Default Clean Power?

So, I want to get a power conditioner/protector, simply for look of cleanliness in my racks, etc; Of course, I'm not a dummy, and would like to get something that keeps my system quieter, Reduces jitter in my interface, RF/EMI, etc.

Anyone have any clues about this stuff?
Some are simple surge protectors, and may have minor RF/EMI protection, such as "furman Rack Rider" line.
"All RR Series conditioners protect your delicate electronic equipment by combining high voltage varistor (MOV) surge and transient suppressors"

Also..
"M-Series Furman conditioners protect your delicate electronic equipment by combining high voltage varistor (MOV) surge and transient suppressors. The fast-acting suppression circuit quickly responds and clamps transient voltages to safe levels." ..And same RF/EMI as Rackrider stuff, it appears.

There's a price jump up to the next line which includes their LiFT technology, which is supposed to actually filter ground/line noise. So, I assume there is some kind of difference as fur as the guts are concerned.
Furman’s Series Mode Protection (SMP) circuit also features LiFT (Linear Filtering Technology) with zero ground contamination. I heard some rumbling on TapeOp board that their SMP was proven to be MOV, and had been sued by someone because of it, but, personally I'm not totally clear on what that means.

Then of course, comes the Monster Cable stuff...
Monster Cable Pro 2500 10-Outlet Power Conditioner. Seems like they're doing something a little different, but not sure.

Anyone w/ specific experiences? How much of this is snake oil?

Thanks.

I was working in a downtown chicago recording studio and learned about their power conditioning/balancing solution from Equitech. The owner of this studio swears by their products and has the entire control room setup with Equitech products. Im sure this is high-end stuff, but most likely you'll be guessing at the effectiveness of the monster and furman products. Monster has a great warranty though, if you use one of their protectors, they will cover the cost of your equipment if it gets fried.

that's a generous deal monster has; i bet the claims on that one are tricky to collect on.

What kind of audible difference would a power conditioner make? I want to get one for my home studio too.

I think the most noticeable audible difference would be the possibly elimination of noise that certain electronics may add to a signal. May also increase the headroom of gear.

Equitechs website has excellent information about this

I've used Furman power conditioners for a long time with no problems. The Furman RP8D rack conditioner does a good job at a fair price. I have been interested in trying out some of the Monster Power Conditioners in my studio. I had the opportunity to sit hear the Monster Cable Pro 2500 and even their power strip model, the pro 1000. They were really hyping up the joule surge protection and their patented clean power filter circuitry as the ultimate in new technology. Listening to these units in comparison to direct from the wall there was a noticable difference in hum. It also seemed to clean up the sound (as it claims to do). Through different stages of filters, they clean out bad noises and let the warm natural tone pass.
It sounded great. I wondered if somehow I was hearing things (buying the hype). A friend bought the power pro 1000 and said it made a huge difference in his studio. I say it's worth checking out!
