I bought the HD201s and for the price they rock. Best cheap headphones out there IMO. Downfalls -the cable comes out of both ears, it is 1/8" and the cable definitely feels cheap. But the price...

yep the HD201s got some myself and for the price they are a steal. I have to concur that they sound very clear and not too bass heavy like most headphones in that price range would. The only pitfalls like Nubus said are the tiny wires connected to the headphone and with me is that they tend to slide off pretty easily. There's not much ambient noise reduction which is a given but what it does have isn't that bad. THUMBS UP.

Also those HD201s are really easy to wear and hear yourself while recording vocals. I tried doing vocals once with my drummers Vic Firth Isolation headphones and it was nearly impossible to hear myself. Even with it cranked those things just kill the room sound too much for recording (except drums).

but i bet that significantly cut down on the signal bleed on the phones into the mic, right?

It may have but since the music was so loud and electric you'd never be able to tell.
