Just to add if you're on a Mac computer you could also visit:
http://www.dontcrack.com/freeware/ though on the effects side that site is sorely lacking many Mac effects. That original site looks pretty cool though reminds me of the Tweakbench site which is another HIGHLY recommendeable site for cool effects and other synths. http://www.tweakbench.com/index.php
