Default Electrovoice Blue Cardinal

Has anyone used or seen someone use this mic? I'm interested in buying it but there is little to no information on it on the net. It seems like a collab between ElectroVoice and BLUE which sounds great on paper. I mostly need a mic for acoustic guitar (not classical) and vocals. It seems like it could be a good mic for that but like I said no information I've seen strays outside of the manufacturer's descrip.

only thing i'd read was that review in tape op, and then the follow up which was ripping on the reviewer for hardly even reviewing it.
I would venture to guesss this mic would be excellent on toms if it can handle SPLs of upwards around 135 dB or so. It's positionable like the good old EV tom mics shaped like a ball, but it has that built-in stand mount. For the 150 bucks I'd give it a shot, I mean it is made out of red wood.

thanks for the info. I shall give it a try then and come back to review it just so that someone else can have some info on how it works. The price is pretty good and it seems like a one off thing that companies sometimes do, if it works it's a dark horse mic that's a sleeper hit and it doesn't it goes the way of generic no-name mics.

D, did you ever try this mic yet? I'm curious about the sound. Especially seeing as tho Nu says it's made from redwood. I'm always checkin out new mics to add for new sound.

I haven't gotten around to using it properly but just for the short time I tested it on random stuff like vocals or plucking a guitar etc. It did sound great the highs are very pronounced and not harsh or tinny and the lows sound very warm and smooth. It sounds great on acoustic guitars probably better than vocals. I still need to try it out more intensely but I'll try to do that real soon and post some sound samples for example.

Just by initial impressions it does sound like a steal at the price and it's dead on in having near nil noise being picked up when you're recording with it.
