Default SERIAL NUMBER

I put the Cubase installation CD in my computer, and it asks for a serial number. I put the CORRECT serial number in the blank (the one that is on the back of my TASCAM recording thing that came with the cubase software), and it always says ERROR SERIAL NUMBER IS NOT VALID! It IS the CORRECT freaking number!!! WHY wont it let me go any further????!!!!!

i was thinking, do you have your caplock on, on your computer? if so, try entering the # without any CAPS (capital letters), if you are doing so...

I don't have experience with Cubase specifically but I had a real hard time doing my first install of Reason 1.0. I think I was missing one tricky number. Also the dash symbol - was required. Basically it had to be exactly correct. I had to ask someone to delete what I enetered and re-type it in> At that point I proceeded to hit him in the head after it worked.

Otherwise... I'd call Cubase on the phone if all else fails.

This is their toll-not-free number 317-577-8770. You should be able to contact them online at their website as well:

The serial number that you are looking for is not on the back of the Tascam unit. It will be either in the book that came with package of usually on the CD sleeve somewhere. Typically it is a sticker that is stuck in some weird place and is not always to obvious. Check through the paper work very carefully again to find it. Also software is very case sensitive as well as spaces and hypens are equally impotrant. Make sure to enter this as well.
