My band is working on an album, which I'm recording on my computer with a Delta 66 and a Delta 1010lt. I have the 1010lt synced to the clock of the 66 via S/PDIF. The other night the drummer and I tried doing a take, and after a few seconds there was a hiccup in one of the tracks (one out of ten) that pulled it out of sync with all the others. I have never seen it do that before. There was some kind of glitch later on in the take as well, which was unusable anyway due to the first problem. I've heard from somebody with a Delta 1010 that after a few years those cards start to die; has anybody else heard this?

I had a similar problem with my MOTU's before I rolled back to service pack 1 from SP2. The difference was that I would get the glitches on all tracks.
What kind of system are you using and what software? |

It's my old computer--an AthlonXP 1500+ with Windows XP SP2. I've used that card on that platform for a very long time with no problems.

I wonder if a voltage spike or drop could have made the anomaly. Have you been running that system for that long in that room, or was it mostly used somewhere else? course if you have it on a power conditioner then my theory is shot.

I used to use it in my apartment a long time ago, and it worked fine. I've had it running in the current location since April or so, and it seemed like it was fine all that time. It's not on any kind of a power conditioner though. Maybe I'll just cross my fingers and hope it doesn't happen again.

Now that I see you are on SP2 I would recommend rolling back to SP1. Apparently there are some serious problems with audio drivers that were introduced with sp2. As long as you aren't using the internet on that machine there are only benifits to do the roll back to 1. You will probably have to call microsoft depending on your path to service pack 2.

I should be able to just reinstall from my OS CDs. That is SP1 I believe.
