Default whitesnake? ewww, no... LIGHTsnake

not to be confused with the (not) awesome b(l)and Whitesnake , but anybody try this light snake yet?

http://www.soundtech.com/lightsnake/index.asp

it looks like a pretty affordable solution for computer guitar and also comes with a really nice software package too.

anybody try it yet?

whats the word on the street?

I had a demo of this shown to me in Anaheim. It's without a doubt the cheapest way of getting your guitar into your computer, but I remember it sounding horrible. All of your guitar's dynamics get chopped up and digitized. I wasn't really impressed.

You can record in 392,489 khz recording programs, but if your convertors to your computer sound like crap, you're just gonna be polishing a turd the whole time.

i hear ya... is that if you use the lightsnake's outputs? is it the junkie outputing thats making it sound cheesie? technically, what if you used a different audio interface for outputing? think it would sound better? i was thinking bout buying it just for the software! nice software package...

I haven't tried those personally. However I do know Target sells some kind of Washburn/Lyon made Guitar to USB cable like this one. There should be a site somewhere that shows you how to craft one yourself.
