Default Singers bringing effects to shows

A band I play in is a bit intrested in buying an effector that the singer can control to do delays. He plays guitar and sings, so I think a pedal controlled effect would be best.
When I was doing live sound a couple of singers brought their own effects. One guy always brought something Antares made, but we inserted it on his channel. That one stayed by the mixing board. As the sound engineer I didn't have to do a thing.
What I'm wondering is how I get the effects control on the stage, but still give the sound engineer some sembalance of control over the mix. Otherwise I could see the delay being either too loud, or not loud enough, and becoming a feedback hazard.

there are a lot of pedals that are out now with wha is called Dynamic Delay. Basically the delay lines are going through a compressor that's triggered by the dry input signal. This prevents the delay frm getting garbled while the vocalist is singing but allowws the echoes to ring out clearly. Any of the newer Zoom, Digitech, Boss, or Yamaha effects boxes will have it.

If your singer is able to spend the $1500, I would say that the TC Electronics G System wold have everything you need. The rackmount unit could go in the PA rack and be used on an insert or loop. The controller can be onstage connected with an ethernet cable. The effects on this unit are outstanding as well.

Cool, thanks. I hope one of them has an expression pedal which can vary delay time.

Just about all of them have an expression pedal that can be assigned to just about any parameter. If the don't they'll have a passive expression input. The latter is true for the G System.
