While not actual Deth Metal my favorite growler is Todd Burdette form His Hero is Gone and Tragedy. It's a very unique growl and the way they record it makes the songs so much more of an existential nightmare, which I enjoy.

Kinda like Samael, especially the album "Passages". Xy's vocals sound like he's sitting in the wintery woods, surrounded by dead loved ones while he freezes to death. A very cool and original metal vocal sound.
