Default Those screamers.

From black metal bands, Lamb of God, COB, Amon Amarth, Arch Enemy, etc.

How the hell do they do that with your voice? How? Is it a super-power?

As a dude that's been screaming his death metal head off for about 15 years, all I can say is just practice practice practice, and it will come. You can always try to one-up yourself. If you have a scream in a song that goes for 4 bars, at practice tell yourself "I'm gonna hold it for 8 bars this time". If you normally a part in a higher register of death-style vocals, try it low. That way you get practice doing the low style, and it's ready to burn for when you need it. And of course the other way around with the high/low death style thing. Of course, you can just focus on one or the other if you & another guy in your band happen to be Jeff Walker & Bill Steer from Carcass, in which case one person will have the perfect voice for high style and one will have the perfect voice for low style. Man those guys are great.

Most importantly, do not forgot to thrash.

Metal is law, thrash to it daily.

I thrash daily, however I cannot get my voice to do that without some serious voice bleeding. I just wanna do it, because it's awesome. In the middle of class, bust out some random Black Metal screech, just to freak people out.

For the death metal bellow...

I wonder if it helps or not to use what I call the "hip-hop" or "wrong" vocal mike technique of holding the mic by its capsule (like "choking up" on it) so that the lower half of the capsule is wrapped by the singer's fingers and palm.

This would accentuate bass response and may help to turn a yelp into a bellow.

Maybe?

It doesn't accentuate the proximity effect cause what it does is make the mic omni. Screaming right into a mic can help you make some sounds, I think Rage against the machine records sounded to me like he was screaming right into a handheld dynamic. I know Rollins did too. A good amount of compression on it and you won't have to strain so hard.

is that screech from SBTB?
