Default fender violin

is that fender electric violin pretty good? i was gonna get one for a friend, but if it sounds cheesy, i dont wanna waste my $$$. anybody ever play it before? does it come close to a real violin?

I think the violinist from GY!BE uses it (godspeed you! black emperor) and from the recordings of them I've heard it doesn't sound that bad. I do notice that it sounds a bit too whiny though but I don't think that's the correct technical term. Maybe it's too glissandoish heh.

She sounded great at the Abbey Pub but I know what you mean. I think that might be in the playing more than the instrument.
